Homemade Mint and Lime Mojito Lemonade

If you’re in need of the perfect summer drink, you found it!

This mojito lemonade is the perfect refreshing drink and it’s super easy to make.

HOW TO MAKE FLAVORED SIMPLE SYRUP:

The main star of the lemonade is the mint simple syrup, which is incredibly easy to make. In this case I used mint, but you can actually use this recipe for any kind of fruit or herb. Raspberry, strawberry, rosemary, basil, the options are endless.

The proportions to make a simple syrup couldn’t be simpler (no pun intended):

  • 1 part water
  • 1 part granulated sugar
  • 1 part fruit/herb of choice

All you have to do is combine everything into a saucepan, heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

HOW LONG DOES SIMPLE SYRUP LAST?

Simple syrup made with this recipe will last about a month if you use herbs, one or two weeks if you use fruit. If you want it to last longer, you can increase the amount of sugar (2 parts of sugar for 1 part of water) and strain it if you use fruit. Stored correctly, it can last up to 6 months. You can use simple syrup in any drink or cocktail!
